Obama may order quick changes: President-elect Barack Obama is poised to move swiftly to reverse actions President Bush took using executive authority, and his transition team is reviewing limits on stem-cell research and the expansion of oil and gas drilling, among other issues, members of the team said Sunday.

First up: Tax cut for the middle: President-elect Barack Obama plans to push ahead with a middle-class tax cut soon after taking office, his choice for White House chief of staff said Sunday.

Schools Are Closed, Offices Are Open: On Tuesday of next week I have to be in Chicago for work. I made the appointments there before I focused on the fact that my children will be home from school back here. The economy: Sobering news: President-elect Barack Obama clearly understands “the sobering news” facing the United States. More Americans are unemployed now than at any time since 1964. This is what he called “an urgent reminder that we are facing the greatest economic challenge of our lifetime.”
