Opportunity, Economic Security, Healthy Families

Women’s Economic Security

  • Paycheck Fairness: Establish wage transparency and equal access to jobs and career tracks
  • Paid Sick Days: Ensure workers statewide can earn paid sick & safe leave
  • FaMLI Act: Provide paid family and medical leave, financed through payroll premiums
  • Minimum Wage: Raise the state minimum wage to $12 over 4 years

Educational Opportunity

  • Early learning & care compensation: Provide financial incentives/compensation for child care providers and teachers with higher education certifications
  • Pay It Forward: Enable students and families to avoid the tuition-and-debt system with income-based graduate contributions
  • New public revenue: Take steps to reform Washington’s tax structure to amply fund education from preschool through higher ed and provide essential services for shared prosperity

Health Care Access

  • Continuity of Care: Create a task force and direct study of health care access and affordability, as well as an assessment of potential solutions to fill gaps, such as the Basic Health Option
  • Health Care For All: Establish intent to have universal health coverage in Washington by 2020

Retirement Security

  • START Act: Establish a state-administered retirement savings plan for workers in small businesses
