elements of prosperity

Come mix it up for an evening of drinks, dinner and entertainment in support of EOI – with a keynote address by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell.

EOI brings research, education, and advocacy together in powerful coalitions to achieve real victories for Washington’s middle class.

Thanks to our supporters, EOI’s work has led to a best-in-the-nation minimum wage (1998); expansion of Basic Health Plan coverage (2001); passage of the Family Care Act (2002); improved wages and training for early childhood educators (2005); estate tax funding for K-12 education (2006); and Seattle’s paid sick days law (2011).

This is our largest fundraising event and an opportunity for you to support public policies that strengthen everyone’s position in our economy.

With your support, we can advance new standards to promote good jobs, educational opportunity, healthy families and workplaces, and a dignified retirement for all – including:

  • Pay It Forward: A new way to keep the doors of Washington’s colleges and universities open to every student willing to achieve, regardless of economic circumstance.
  • Family & Medical Leave Insurance: Ensuring every worker can take time to care for their health and medical needs, and those of their family.
  • Retirement Security Accounts: An innovative path to help ensure every worker can save for a dignified retirement, while defending and improving Social Security.
  • Basic Health: Expanding Washington’s Basic Health Program in tandem with national health care reform, so every Washington resident has access to health care.
  • Tax Reform: Making it possible for Washington’s workers and businesses to succeed, by promoting stable and equitable funding for education, transportation and other public goods and services.

See you there in support of the Economic Opportunity Institute, a vibrant and independent force for building an economy that works – for everyone.
