Early childhood education in Washington: A continuing conversation

Life is better in Finland – at least, if you’re a preschooler or parent. A group of Washington businesspeople, educators and lawmakers took a fact-finding tour to see why Finland is at the top of so many educational achievement lists.

They found that taxes are high there…but tax dollars are used to cover costs of learning, family leave, and healthcare that most Americans pay on their own.

The study trip was led by EOI and the World Forum Foundation, and funded with a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Here’s the the full story from WNS, and the complete findings from the study trip.
