Now Hiring: Temporary Campaign Coordinator

EOI is seeking an experienced candidate to coordinate a campaign for Seattle Retirement Accounts. Background in organizing, campaign strategy, and/or communications is especially desirable. 40 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months beginning in March 2012.

Key Duties

  • Reach out to and maintain contact with key organizations/individuals, especially those representing ethnic communities, low and moderate income workers, and small business owners in Seattle.
  • Identify and train spokespeople and emerging leaders
  • Organize and manage public events
  • Participate in strategic decision-making
  • Communicate with policymakers
  • Work with communications staff on local media outreach

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.A. degree
  • 5 years of professional experience. Background in working with small businesses, organizing, campaign strategy, and/or communications is especially desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with a broad range of people
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to EOI’s mission

Other Factors: Access to EOI’s office requires use of stairs. Majority of work will be during traditional business hours, but some evening and weekend work may be required. Travel around Puget Sound region will be required. Extension of contract is possible, depending on project and grant status.

Compensation: Wage DOE. EOI provides a generous benefits package.
