We proved them wrong.
Today is GiveBIG. Click here to make a gift to EOI.
Just a few years ago, having paid sick leave written into law seemed like an impossible dream to many. Congress wouldn’t pass such a bill, and neither would any state legislature.
Now — after years of hard work by the Economic Opportunity Institute and its allies — nearly 200,000 Seattle and Tacoma mothers, fathers, servers, cooks, nurses, and many others have new access to paid leave when they are sick.
But there are many people still working to provide for their families who can’t make ends meet. And paid sick days is just one of many policy changes we need to build an economy that works for everyone.
That’s why we are trying to raise $20,000 TODAY for GiveBIG, an annual one-day, online charitable giving event.
All donations — up to $10,000 — made between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. TODAY will be matched!
I plan to give to EOI and to the other organizations that I am passionate about.
Can I count on you to do the same?
Thank you for working with us to make the impossible possible.
With gratitude,
John Burbank
Executive Director
