When Jerry had an operation in 1985 that left him paralyzed on his left side, Social Security benefits were there, helping him to maintain his economic security. Now, Jerry serves his community by running a nonprofit program that builds wheelchair ramps for people in need — helping to bring dignity and freedom disabled, elderly and low-income people’s lives.
