Washington Policy Watch: Retirement Security
What happened, what it means – and what’s next

retirementSometimes it’s hard to “read between the headlines” and really make sense of what’s going on in Olympia. Did we make progress – why? Does next year look any different? And most importantly, what can we do now to keep the issues that affect our families and communities at the forefront?

We’re here to help find some answers.

Join us for Washington Policy Watch, a series of salon-style events designed to promote public dialogue about the public policy issues facing our state.

Our first session will focus on the Washington Small Business Retirement Marketplace (recently signed into law), which seeks to promote new retirement investment opportunities for people traditionally left on the sidelines from workplace-based retirement savings plans, especially the millions of people working in Washington’s small businesses.

Join EOI Senior Policy Associate Gary Burris and Sen. Mark Mullet and Rep. Larry Springer, co-sponsors of the bill, for a spirited and informative discussion of retirement security in our state. Share your ideas and learn more about what happened this legislative session and what that means for the future.
